Agreement
Your work stays yours.
By installing or using Graycard, you agree to these terms. Graycard is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. These terms add to those, and the SideSwipe Labs umbrella terms apply too. Where they conflict, these terms govern your use of Graycard.
- License
- Apple’s standard EULA, plus these terms.
- Your work
- Yours. We claim no rights over it, and we never see it.
- Purchases
- Through the Mac App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple.
- Graycard Pro
- Lifts the limit of 80 unique proofs. Every tool stays free.
- Governing law
- California, United States.
01Your photos stay yours
You own your photos, and everything you make from them in Graycard: grades, styles, marks, sidecars, and exported proofs. We claim no rights over your work, and we never see it. Delivering, publishing, or selling it is your call.
02Purchases
Graycard is distributed through the Mac App Store. The price, and any in-app purchase, is shown there before you buy, and Apple processes every transaction. Refunds are handled by Apple under its refund policy; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases are restorable on any Mac signed into the same Apple Account, as Apple’s terms allow.
Graycard Pro only lifts the limit of 80 unique proofs. Every tool stays free. There is no free trial and no introductory offer.
- Monthly: billed every month until you cancel.
- Yearly: billed every year until you cancel.
- Lifetime: one payment, and it does not renew.
The Mac App Store shows each plan’s price in your currency before you buy. Monthly and Yearly renew automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in the App Store under Account Settings. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Family Sharing is included on all three plans. Restore Purchases is in the app. These purchases are also covered by Apple’s standard EULA linked above.
03Your originals and your backups
Graycard reads photos where they are and never modifies or deletes an original file. Proofs are written only to folders you choose, and an existing proof is replaced only when you choose Overwrite.
Graycard keeps no copy of your photos and has no cloud backup. You are responsible for backing up your cards, originals, and proofs. A lost, damaged, or reformatted card cannot be recovered from Graycard.
04Auto-cull and Graycard Auto are suggestions
Auto-cull flags frames it thinks you would reject, and Graycard Auto proposes a grade for each keeper. Both are automated judgements made on your Mac, and both can be wrong: a frame flagged as soft may be the one you want, and a grade may not match your intent or a client’s. Review the flags and the proofs before you deliver them.
05Acceptable use
- Personal and commercial use are both allowed, including client work.
- Don’t reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive Graycard’s source code, except where the law allows it.
- Don’t modify, resell, or redistribute the app.
- Don’t use Graycard to process content you have no right to use, or to create or distribute illegal content.
06Intellectual property
Graycard, its software, its icon, and its interface are owned by SideSwipe Labs. Styles and looks that ship with the app may be used on any photo you grade, but may not be extracted and redistributed as a product of their own. Open-source fonts bundled with the app stay under their own licenses, listed in Help → Acknowledgments.
07Disclaimers
Graycard is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We make no warranty that every camera’s RAW files will decode, that colors will match another application or a particular display or printer, or that Auto-cull will flag the frames you would flag. Check a few proofs before you deliver a full shoot.
08Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SideSwipe Labs is not liable for lost photos, lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Graycard, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for Graycard in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
09Termination
Your license ends if you break these terms. You can end it at any time by deleting Graycard. Sections 1, 3, 7, and 8 survive.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in San Francisco County, California, except where local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
11Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest change. Continued use after a change is posted means you accept it.
